Speech of H.E. DR. Michael Linhart, Ambassador of Austria
Dr. Linhart started his speech by congratulating the MUN-directors on the opening ceremony. He continued by mentioning the difficult times not only Greece
but whole Europe is passing through. He believes that shows how much one country can affect another these days and, in order to deal with the situation, every country needs a responsible leader. He than congratulated the young people participating for the initiatives they take and expressed his wish that they will be the ones taking responsibility in the future. Furthermore, he pointed out that Austria has been a member of the U.N. since 1955 and is an example of how a small country can take on responsibility: Austria participated in the Security Council and is host to different UN agencies. The ambassador ended by wishing all to have a good conference.
